Dr Pywell joined the practice as a partner in 1998 and he is now the longest serving and senior partner. He obtained his medical degree in 1989 from the University of Leicester. Dr Pywell has specialist interests in skin conditions, skin surgery and inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis). He provides joint injections for patients at the practice.

Dr Pywell's clinical sessions at the practice are on various days throughout the week. 

Dr Pywell is also an elected member of the Coventry Local Medical Committee, the representative body for general practitioners in the Coventry area.

Dr De Veer joined the practice as a partner in 2004. He obtained his medical degree in 1987 in Accra, Ghana. Dr De Veer has specialist interests in children’s health, patients who have learning disabilities and diabetes. He is involved in supervising the practice’s diabetic clinics. He is one of the practice’s safeguarding leads for children and adults.

Dr De Veer's clinical sessions at the practice are on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Dr Biggs joined the practice as a partner in 2014. She obtained her medical degree in 2006 from the Universities of Leicester and Warwick. Dr Biggs has specialist interests in women’s health (including the menopause and contraception) and diabetes. 

Dr Biggs' clinical sessions at the practice are on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Dr Biggs is involved in other medical work outside of the practice. She is an elected member and the Vice Chair of Coventry Local Medical Committe, the representative body for general practitioners in the Coventry area. Dr Biggs is a general practitioner representative for the Medical Womens Federation on the General Practitioners Committee of the British Medical Association. Dr Biggs is also involved in the provision of women's health clinics.

Dr Hammon joined the practice as a partner in 2016. She obtained her medical degree in 1999 from King’s College in London. Dr Hammon has specialist interests in mental health, skin conditions, women’s health (including the menopause and contraception) and occupational medicine. The practice is involved in training qualified doctors who want to be general practitioners and Dr Hammon is a trainer.

Dr Hammon's clinical sessions at the practice are on Mondays and Tuesdays. 

Dr Hammon is involved in other medical work outside of the practice, including the provision of dermatology and occupational health clinics.

Dr O’Flanagan joined the practice as a partner in 2017. She obtained her medical degree in 2008 from the University of Leicester. Dr O’Flanagan has specialist interests in palliative care, children’s health and child health surveillance. She is one of the practice's safeguarding leads for children and adults. The practice is involved in training qualified doctors who want to be GPs and Dr O'Flanagan is a GP trainer. 

Dr O’Flanagan's clinical sessions at the practice are on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Owen joined the practice as a partner in 2017. She obtained her medical degree in 2011 from the University of Warwick. Dr Owen has specialist interests in emergency care, palliative care and contraception. She oversees the working of the two clinical pharmacists who are attached to the practice. 

Dr Owen's clinical sessions at the practice are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Dr Knipe joined the practice as a salaried doctor in 2024. She obtained her medical degree in 2010 from the University of Wales. Dr Knipe has specialist interests in children's health and occupational medicine. She provides joint injections for patients at the practice.

Dr Knipe's clinical sessions at the practice are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Springfield Medical Practice is a training practice. This means that we have qualified doctors who work with us for usually between four to twelve months. These doctors are either in their second year after qualifying or are training to be general practitioners. They are supervised by the partners within the practice. After they have been with us for a few weeks they run their own clinics and typically have longer consultation times with their patients. Although they are seeing patients independently, they have immediate access to a supervising doctor. Not infrequently they will ask the supervising doctor for advice during a consultation, either on the telephone or by asking the supervisor to come into the consultation - this is to be expected and is an important part of how they gain informed and guided experience.

We feel that training the next generation of doctors is critical. Without this valuable work, the future of medical care in this country would be limited. Not only do we need doctors now but we will all need doctors in ten to twenty years' time. We hope that you feel able to help in this important work.

Occasionally you will be seen by a locum doctor. We do not often need to use external locums but sometimes, usually due to ill-health, it becomes necessary. Locum doctors are always fully qualified general practitioners.

Lynda is a registered nurse and provides nursing services including dressings and wound management, immunisations, smoking cessation, diabetes checks, NHS health checks, ECGs, blood pressure checks and phlebotomy.

Tracey is a registered nurse associate and provides nursing services including dressings and wound management, immunisations, cervical screening, smoking cessation, asthma checks, NHS health checks, ECGs, blood pressure checks, Holter monitors and phlebotomy.
