Noticeboard

You’ll hear a lot in the coming days about GPs being on strike and various twists on this. We are not on strike but we are taking a stance about inadequate practice funding and unfunded work. We want to keep our surgery as your local surgery and family GPs. Practices are closing and jobs are being lost nationally. The short video below explains what is actually happening. We get £107 per patient per year. 30 pence a day, to provide your healthcare, whether you see us once in 10 years or see our healthcare team several times a week. You will notice some changes in the coming months, but as the GP partners, we are doing this to protect our staff, but ultimately we are doing this to provide continued and SAFE patient care.

Please see link below to video.

Practice Policies

COMPUTERISED RECORDS

confidentialityAll our patient records are kept on computer.  We can assure patients of complete confidentiality. All practice staff are bound by a confidentiality agreement.  Your rights are also protected by the Data Protection Act.  We may at times be required to share your clinical data with the Primary Care Team.

Concerns about confidentiality can be addressed to our Caldicott Guardian, Dr J Pywell via the Practice Manager.

You have the right to access your computerised and  paper medical records upon written request. You will be required to show some form of identification.  Under GDPR we can charge if requests are excessive and repetitive.

AMAZON

Practices using EMIS are obliged to inform patients that the server that is used nationally is to be hosted by Amazon. Unfortunately we have no control over this.  If patients aren't happy with this, then their only option would be to register with a Practice that didn’t use EMIS.  There are only a few practices in Coventry that do not use EMIS as their clinical system.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT

The practice conforms to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Full details are available on www.foi.nhs.uk. If you do not have access to the internet please ask at reception and a copy will be made available.

Patient’s Rights and Responsibilities are as defined in the Patient’s Charter, a copy of which is available upon request from NHS England.
